What really matters

Hello and I hope you have a good beginning of a new week! <3

As promised, this blog text will be about what is really important to me. My friends and family. I find that Finnish culture can be very individual, which means that the importance of family isn’t that big. Like you’re supposed to make it on your own. Most of us in here move on our own around the age of 20. Even though I enjoy my own company and am a bit introverted, people closest to me bring the real meaning into my life.

My family consists of my fíance Jarkko and our two cats Akseli and Albert. Every day they bring so much meaning and joy into my life. Of course I feel that I have a meaning of my own, but to love and to feel loved by others just makes all the colors pop out.

Akseli in the front with white marks and Albert in the back. They have been with us for almost a year now. They are brothers and just the loveliest cats I know <3

Our daily life goes around the different seasons in Finland. Every season seems to bring its own impact on our life. During winter we love to enjoy the frosty views outside, but also to cuddle on the sofa, drinking hot tea and watching our favourite series and movies. In the summer, it is so much fun to go out on picnics and to a lake for swimming etc. Jarkko goes to work from 7am to 4pm from Monday to Friday, and during that I study. I try to graduate as fast as possible, so we can move on with our lives (move on as in move out of the city and into the countryside).

Then again, there are sides to living in a city that I do appreciate. For example, living close to my friends or being able to just jump on a train and visit them. We have an easy access to the public transport here. I don’t have a huge amount of friends, but the few I have, I just love. I feel so much like myself with them, and I have known most of my friends for a long time. Last weekend we had a sort of housewarming party with my friends, because one of them moved into a new home!

Here’s a couple pictures of that;

There are also some people that aren’t included in this post but are very dear to me. For example my parents, siblings, other relatives and friends. My grandparents also mean the world to me - I think that they have so much wisdom and gentleness in them, and my heart just gets this warm feeling every time I see them. Maybe you will get to see more of these if you follow along on my journey!

Lots of love to you all and take care of yourself and others during this cold season! <3
